A dream that was always in the making....
Gennaro met Victoria when she was on vacation in the summer of 2014 and a whirlwind romance began that would ultimately change both of their lives forever.
By the end of the same year Victoria left her job in London, England and after a 6 week holiday together they decided to throw caution to the wind and Victoria moved to Praiano, Gennaro’s beloved home town. Once Victoria had settled into a new culture, a new life and a new home; Gennaro was ready to start his own business knowing that Victoria would support and help him manage and promote the company.
Gennaro had always spoken about owning his own boat company, but wanted to offer a truly unique experience that stays with the guests long after they’ve returned home. To have his dream turn into a reality is something that both Gennaro and Victoria are most grateful for.
The business grew organically, despite the uncertain period of Covid and expanded the “Feast With Frankie” tour on land. Food is a passion that both Frankie and Victoria share and carved out a truly unique experience for people that are seeking to eat the best dishes at any one of the countless fabulous restaurants to choose from. Forged with this passion, Gennaro and Victoria now offer culinary experiences, including coming to your villa and cooking and entertaining guests. In 2023 Gennaro and Victoria expanded the business offering a corporate event and travel advisory service, called Azzurra Travels www.azzurratravels.com . There are so many potential pitfalls when coming to the coast and so many clients, friends and family members suggested that with Gennaro’s local knowledge and Victoria’s organisational skills they could assist travellers with designing vacations and companies & businesses curate and manage events.
Gennaro and Victoria have been together for 10 years and have 2 children and juggle family time, work and most importantly having fun.
About us
Gennaro Capriglione
Born and bred in Praiano, Gennaro (or Frankie to his friends) is passionate and patriotic of the town Praiano, which he is proud to call home. Service is in Gennaro’s blood as his grandfather opened the very first grocery store in Praiano just after the war, and was handed down to his mother Anna. Gennaro helped his mother in the shop throughout his childhood, becoming very comfortable around people and installed the willingness to help anyone whenever he could.
Gennaro waited tables throughout his adolescence and as Praiano’s tourist industry grew, Gennaro decided to improve his English by travelling around Australia for 6 months (he tried to move to London – but it was too cold!). Upon his return Gennaro worked for One Fire Beach and along side his good friend, the now infamous Praianese legend that is Piccoletto. After a few years Gennaro turned his hand working on the sea as he has always been a keen fisherman and like so many local people had always had an infinite connection with the environment around him. His father advised him, even back then, that he should start his own business and Gennaro knew that he would do so one day… but when the time was right.
In the meantime Gennaro continued his service experience by working for his cousin at the 4 star Hotel Margherita. Here Gennaro encompassed many roles during his 5 years but all done with his unique charm, warmth and duty to serve others to the best to his ability – going above and beyond what was called for. Eventually Gennaro felt like it was the right time to start building his dream and so worked with his cousin at Windsurf Praiano for a year, offering water taxies and excursions.
In Summer 2018 Gennaro purchased a 12 seater rib and launched Frankie Boatours, welcoming locals, friends, existing clients and new guests onboard. He is overjoyed that he gets to share the best of the coast with so many people and every day is a chance to serve and make other people’s wishes come true.
Victoria Clifford-Capriglione
Growing up Victoria moved around a lot and so because she was always the “New Girl” at school, connecting with people and making friends was something that comes easily to Victoria. Like Gennaro, serving people is something that Victoria is passionate about and whilst studying, she waitressed until she found a full time job as an admin and events assistant. Throughout her career Victoria has worked for celebrities, aristocracy and high net worth individuals, which honed her organisational, logistic and communication skills.
When she met Gennaro she was an Executive Assistant to the CEO of an International Coffee House brand and was also the company’s Culture & Events Manager as well as coordinating the international department and investor relations. Victoria manages the company and is responsible for business administration, reservations, marketing and social media content. In 2023 Victoria expanded the business with Azzurra Travels and organised several corporate events in Praiano with huge success. As a certified Health & Wellness Coach, Victoria is passionate about aligning mental, physical and spiritual health and plans to run a transformative retreat alongside Azzurra Travels.
